my lincoln 2017 mkz battery was dead.  i bought a new one and 2 months later
it was dead agian.

Take it to you local Ford or Lincoln dealership. When we had our 2014 MKZ ,the module that controlled the trunk opening and closing had to be reflashed. Only the dealership can do this reprogramming. Should take an hour or less. There is a TSB on this issue.
