2011 Jeep liberty distribution box blend door

Asked by GuruBDKR8 Dec 07, 2018 at 12:07 PM about the 2011 Jeep Liberty Limited Jet 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2011 Jeep liberty, I have heat on passenger side but ice cold air
coming from driver side.  I am assuming the Driver side blend door is broken.
Actuator is working.  I don't have the money to have someone replace the
distribution box or want to remove the dash.  My question to you is is there
someway I can drill a hole so I can get access and lift that blend door so I
can get heat?  I don't have any diagrams showing what inside the distribution
box or know how the blend door sits or looks like inside the box.

I had the same issue with my 2012 Jeep Liberty! After some research I figured it was the door actuator and after I replaced it my self it did not help. So the next step I took was to flush the heater core! After I did that I have heat coming from both sides. ( before this I one had heat on the passenger air vents in the floor and the window. And only cold air on the driver) if you go to auto zone or o’Reillys they have a kit to flush your heater core and the cleaner for it, if you choose to do it your self. I would recommend watching YouTube. Now I got my Jeep diagnosed and they said the heater core is going out. So instead of replacing the heater core I didn’t flush and it’s giving me heat on both sides!
