Fusion Rim size

I have a 2017 Ford Fusion SE AWD and am looking at getting separate snow tires and rims.  Current tires are 18" and the local tire place said 17" rims would work and I'd save some money over 18".  Will they work ok or will I have problems?

Assuming they sell you wheels with the correct bolt pattern and offset the 17" wheels should work with the correct size tires.
