have a 1989 Chevy K 1500 4x4truck 350 motor , 6 lug rim, just changed the u joints on the main drive shaft. I'm hearing a knocking sound in the right side rear end of the truck only in drive

I did jack up the truck and put it in drive, the wheels turned, but didn't hear the nocking noise. When I lowered it back down on the ground and put it in drive, with the weight on the suspension and tires, the noise was there again. Could it be the rear axle bearing? What I don't understand is the noise isn't there when it's in revers

If the knocking happens when the truck is idling it is not the U joints.
