92 Chevy 1500 crank but no start

Asked by GuruNDCZR Dec 06, 2019 at 07:10 PM about the 1992 Chevrolet C/K 1500 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The wire that leads to the ignition coil has
power at the ignition switch but loses it going
through the bulkhead connector which leads
to the engine compartment on the other side
of the firewall. Does anyone know how I can
restore this connection?

Inspect the wire from end to end - it sounds like it’s making contact somewhere (a short). Look for damage to the outer casing and exposure of the wire within. Or, it could be a switch somewhere that’s not disengaging - possibly within the ignition switch. Being a ‘92, it’s not likely anything more complicated than that(?) Good luck!
