what is the best performance cam i can put on my 1992 chevy 1500 5.7 350 motor and what do i need to do for the heads

Best is very subjective. Do you plan on using the truck as a truck to haul loads? If so maybe a RV cam. In any case I would go with something mild. If you want a lot of power you will need high performance heads or have yours ported and polished.
