I need a rebuild kit for Chevy 350 V6, 4.3l/262ci. It's the "z motor". I am being asked if it has a "T" on the block and about inlet oil pump. Is one or the other standard?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I will be rebuilding this by myself, and it's the first time to rebuild a car engine. I have rebuild a tractor engine before, so I'm not 100% insane.

I am a little worried that you think you have a Chevy 350 but you can buy a rebuild kit for a 4,3 V6 at Engine Parts Only for $300. As to the exact part kit you need how can I tell when you have the engine?

Although I am not questioning your mechanical abilities, there is much more to rebuilding an engine than installing new parts. Measuring the various clearances, determining cylinder size and taper and dealing with cylinder ridge are all important, as well as selecting the proper parts. You may do fine or it could be a very expensive and frustrating ordeal. I would consider a rebuilt or crate engine.
