Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Okay I've been trying to figure this out for 3
days now and can't figure it out. I got about
1000 yards from my house when I lost the
gas peddle, break and steering then the
battery, service engine soon and check
gauges lite up on the dash. ( engine was still
running when I pulled over into a parking lot)
I shut it off then went to restart it and it
would only crank that's it and those lights
were still on the dash. I changed the battery
because it was showing very low I got it
tested at AutoZone they said it was bad. I
also changed the ignition coil still doing the
same thing. I was told to check the oil
because some Chevy's fire under oil
pressure, so I did and i had no engine oil at
all. I had just changed the engine oil and
tyranny oil right before winter hit around
November so I don't know where the hell all
of the engine oil went it doesn't leak and I've
not once smelled burnnimg oil. I put oil in
still nothing also I turned the key over to
check what codes come up and it only
comes up with code 12 ( one flash stop two
flashes stop ) AutoZone said it is something
about oil. One more thing I'm getting fuel but
it won't spark if anyone knows please let me
know. I have a 93 Chevy Silverado 5.7 ext
cab k1500 4WD also in September I put all
new cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires.

Sounds like you forgot to put oil in it when you changed it. Two things that need to be checked for spark would be the Ignition Control Module, and the coil pick-up. The ICM can be taken out and checked at Auto Zone and the pick-up coil, there are two wires that run to it. Gently pull on them to see if there attached. Usually a wire will break for it to be bad.

I figured out what it was yesterday it was the Ignition Control Module i had AutoZone test it out and it failed every test but one. It runs a lot better than it did before and will drive done the road its still giving me a fit and the check gauges lights keeps coming on.

When I put the key in to check what codes come up 12 is the only code that none stop shows on the dash

But thats a few months ago. If you have a voltmeter you can check to see if there is 14.3 to 14.7 DCV at the battery when the truck is running.

The code 12 is what you want. That is saying that the sensors on the engine are not picking up anything wrong there. You have something else going on. Check that fuse for the gauges and all fuses, I believe there is one for the PCM also.

I just started it and checked it. It's reading normal and too low. As for the fuses I changed all of them so they're all new
