1995 Chevy 1500 brake light

Asked by GuruPL462 Jan 19, 2020 at 10:26 PM about the 1995 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

3rd light brake works, parking lamps all around
working, blinkers all around working, and hazards
all around working. Problem is no tail braking
lights. I know that the brake switch bypasses the
the blinker/multi switch so I'm obviously getting
signal from the blinker/multi switch. my brake
pedal mounted switch is new, fuse and relay new.
My initial thought was that when the master notch
and airbag setup was installed may have been the
cause but idk. I'm at a loss aside from WTF. If
anyone has had the same situation with a
resolution would be a great help. T.I.A.

On the contrary, the outboard brake lights are wired through the turn signal switch. The third brake light is not. Since the rear turn signals are working you have power back there. I'd check the turn signal switch to be sure. I bet that's what the problem is. Hope that helps! Jim
