Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 86 c10 half ton. With stock. 10bolt. And 256 gears.
How do I look up what sline and details. To order the lower
gears I want. With out tearing into it. I want to be able to drive
it untill I get funds for the gears and spool. 256 gears kills  
the 6g I invested in the engine

Easyer said than done. People would rather sell the wife and kids first. Or just way over priceed. What vehicles do I need to look for in fields or junkyards. That would have a 12 bolt?
