Question type: General

Hi. I am Lucy and I am looking forward to buying Subaru Crosstrek. I am quite
short (5 ft). Does anyone have any experience who can tell whether it would be
fine for my height?

It will be fine, the seat and steering column adjust plenty. 5ft to 6.5ft do fine, keep in mind these cars are built in Japan by statistically shorter folk as well. I worked 6 years for Subaru selling and had plenty of petite clients who loved them. Worst case there is always booster seats, pads, pillows and periscopes but I think you'll like them. Low hood line, decent visibility. Most dealers will allow an overnight test drive before you commit, take one for a day and night and cruise around before you make a decision.

My answer is confused. I want to purchase a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek but the manual rear gate is too high to reach when wearing flat shoes or sneakers. I even called corporate in New Jersey and there is no resolve for this issue. I have a 2012 Subaru Forester and the rear gate is shorter than the Crosstrek’s.

Mark Helpful is not very helpful. We are talking about the trunk. When it is open it is too high to reach to close it. I have 5 feet and have difficulty reaching it. Real drawback for short people!!!

Did you ever get an answer? I’m having same issue with 2029. I’m 4’10”. Obviously many people did not read your question.

Of course, you can, you could always adjust the seat to your liking and you won't have any issues. Subaru Crosstrek is spacious, comfortable to ride in, and offers some moderate off- roading capabilities. Contact us today to know more about what we can offer https://www.baldwinsubaru.com/

Inside the car is great for short people. I am 5 feet and seat adjustment is great. The part that is a problem is I did not check opening and closing the trunk when I bought it. Once it is open it the trunk raises so high I can’t reach it to close it and I refuse to carry a step stool around. My husband was able to attach a strap but he is quite handy not sure the average person could figure it out

The only solution is to install a strap yourself. See picture attached. My husband is handy.

For short height people (5 feet), which car is better - Forester or Crosstrek considering driver seating, visibility and safety features?

The inside of the Crosstrek is great but the hatch can be impossible for a short person. Try it before you buy it..

I found a strap on Etsy from a shop called Brookline Design. It was made specifically for this car and it works great.
