Problem with transmission shifting into 4

Transmission functions perfectly
until 4th gear won't go into 4th
gear downshift II function to
normal upshift to third normal 3rd
4th doesn't work I had it scanned
the only thing that came up was
an oxygen sensor going bad

sounds like the overdrive is faulty. IT could be a solenoid problem or time for a transmission rebuild, Have an independent trans shop diagnosis, no repair chains.
