Glowing exhaust manifolds

Asked by Lococng77 Dec 22, 2018 at 08:36 PM about the 2001 Hyundai Accent GL Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So I was driving into work and the car started to feel like
battery draining. Would pickup and stop again and again.
Once I made it to work, I popped the hood and the exhaust
manI folds were glowing bright orange. Shut the car off and
got towed back home. Can anyone give me some advice as
to what I can do to save my car?

It could be a failed oxygen sensor or clogged or partially clogged catalytic converter

Sounds like a clogged cat, get the manifold changed. <$100 from a wrecking yard
