Engine raise over when clutch off

At the running time when clutch off that time engine
raise over.that time rpm above 4000 that continues
few seconds,some time over minutes.that very
irritating me

I would think if you had the car scanned for codes, it would point you into the right direction for a fix. I am suspecting a TPS, (throttle position sensor).
