My 2000 Ford Focus is having a hard time starting, the key will turn but the engine won't catch. Could it be the ignition switch causing it not to start or is it another problem going on?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The key will turn, the lights and everything else works on the dash, but for some reason it rev's but won't turn on. Once I do get it on it runs fine but just to get it started is a hassle. DO you know what it could possibly be?

Get a NEW battery....coarse wirebrush the 1/0awg end of the Black Cable as it attatches to the frame/fender~ everything will be okay then~

I had a 1997 ford prove that would crank and would not start had it to ford about ten times with it and still the samething they change the disturber 2 times the 3 time they but on a aftermarket one on it so after 30 day the warranty was up on it so had it towed out of that dealer to another dealer up the road was there 20 minutes and the car was up and running they would not say what they did but there was no charge for it so it worked great for about 3 months then then it started again so took it to a small shop were the owner told me that it was a dirty mass air flow sensor need to be clean the sensor was over 700 dollars so I just keep on clean it and it would run well after that you can have a look into it
