fuel pump relay will not kick on, its a good relay.

I can manually kick it on and the pump will run but still won't start .there is no reset switch . what would cause the relay not to kick on

bend pins on relay, socket melts and wires fall out under fuse box because relay gets hot well driving check wires first and bend pins has happen to me..

I have similar problem. control voltage to relay only 7 volts. relay will not switch on to run the pump. Also, I have shorted the pump terminals to make it run, but it will not pressurize and shut off. Any thoughts William?
