I have a 1996 and a 1999 which is probably the same vintage as your 2000. My transmission gut indicated there was a transmission for the V6 and one for the V8. I would suggest you verify, you may have to swap out both the engine and tranny. Go to any transmission web site and plug the tranny for the V6 and V8 and see if the part number changes.
