There is a crinkling sound when I turn on the air conditioner, which goes away after several minutes...although the air is not cold at first, it cools off in ten minutes. Is the crinkling sound a problem?

I wouldn't be too worried about it. Its probably just the sound of the blower motor heating up.

If the sound is a rattling sound, that means that there could be leaves in the blower motor. If the sound is like you open a coke bottle, that is the expansion valve for the a/c doing its job, that's normal.
