Loud Noise from Engine

There a loud cranking noise coming
from the engine as if something is
broken inside the engine. The car
stopped when the noise was at its
peak. It starts now but the same
loud cranking sound comes from the
engine and theres very less power
for the car to move.
Any suggestions what it can be

Maybe a starter motor is not disengaging? Clearly you have a serious mechanical issue, continue to drive it will only make it worse, get it into a shop asap. If you're a DIYer, look at the starter and all belt driven accessories, then CV axles.

Hi, how did you fix it because mine is doing the same when I start it makes metal noise from engine and cuts out I thought maybe it's the torque converter.

My car sounds like a diesel engine some one said I must check my campgear because the noise comes from the cylinderhead confuse c180 w202 engine
