Burning smell - Hyundai Tiburon 2004

Asked by kilroy303 May 02, 2011 at 06:07 PM about the 2004 Hyundai Tiburon FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon. After parking my car I can get a burning smell coming under the hood. Other than that everything is fine with the car. 2 weeks ago I got a oil change and the smell has gone. But a week later the oil change the I started to get that smell again. What may be the cause for this?  Is it something serious?

It sounds like you have a possible small fluid leak. (probably oil) When you are driving you dont smell it because the wind under the hood is pushing the smell out. When you are parked and the engine is still warm, the smell can be more prevalent. Look for any signs of moisture (oil) under the hood, or have your mechanic do this. Please award opints if this helps
