Just keep in mind the explorers of your vintage have a high center of gravity in the first place. Raising the vehicle another three or four inches just raises the center of gravity that much more. My city used explorers as police vehicles back then. As a driving instructor we had one outfitted with outriggers. The normal height explorer could be rolled on it's side at just over 35 mph. Raising the vehicle four inches will lower the speed at which the vehicle will roll in a panic or sharp turn. Even more so if struck from the side.
