Does the Denso 12v relay #056700-9410 have anything to do with starting the car?

yes it can.i had the same problem in my acura rl. this switch is used for a couple things in different places in the car...blower moter, sunroof, and FUEL CUT-OFF. Mine was in the trunk and had gone bad causing no power allowed to the fuel pump. This switch absolutely can cause your car to not start. :)
