You are in a OBD 1 world NOT a two (II). Engine control Unit/ computer harness is different than more modern OBD II connectors. I did this myself on my 2002 CX with a JDM 1.8 VTEC from Acura GSR, old retrofitted OBD1 engine harness cable and a new ECU that allows for VTEC are the keys. 210 natural horses in a sub 2,000 pound car yields - FAST!! Smokes corvettes - 0-60 in about 4.0 seconds
