My Car jerking is jerking.

Asked by Chuck3013 Jun 23, 2020 at 02:03 PM about the 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2016 Nissan Altima started to jerk while
driving. RPMs were jumping around going as high
as 5000 or so. Does anyone know what this can be
a sign of? I am getting it diagnosed today.

My car has 42k on it. Check engine light came on and it is P17F0. I called the dealership and they said I need a new transmission. They extended the warranty up to 84k. Good news, its covered, bad news is I will be out of a car for about 2 weeks. My appointment is a week away and it will take about 5 days for claim, ordering of the transmission and installation.

They said that they are backed up until that time. It doesn't make any sense to me. They probably do not have the room for them to store. Now I am making excuses for them. It's probably BS but what am I going to do. It's not worth the stress fighting it. As long as it is fixed and returned to me when they say it is.
