Overheat

I have a 94 honda accord ex vtech engine,

I just replaced the thermostat, and radiator hose
and the gage rises almost to the red when Im at a
light or at a stop sign. But when Im driving, it goes
back down. Whats going on here?

There is a good chance that you are low on coolant. if your reservoir says you are full then its possible that you need to bleed your cooling system. if that doesn't work then it could also be your water pump.
