I have a 2000 expedition with 275 6017 I would like to go with 265 70 r17 but no one will put them on can someone tell me why

First look at the tire specification that is on a sticker on the drivers side door or door frame - it should tell you what size Ford recommends for the that specific vehicle.. If that is not available, try a tire supplier website, Assuming that your Expedition is 4WD, I looked at tirerack.com and they show that the 265/70R17 is the standard tire on that vehicle - and that the 275/60R17 is an optional size.. Your key considerations for changing tire size should be comparing the old versus desired in the areas of overall diameter, width, and tire size compatibility to the wheel being mounted on.
