Question type: Maintenance & Repair

96 honda civic dx. I replaced my
cracked exhaust manifold, but i have
this wierd occurance. When i go to
start my car it turns over slowly so i
give it a bit of gas to start it up and
when it does it make a sound which
is like a rattling coming from the top
end of the engine? I cant tell if its
inside of the engine or not? Was a
used engine i replaced my old one
with that has 60k miles on it.

stop revving it check some stuff like your auto tensioner take off your valve cover and see if something is loose could be loose rocker arms or something like that. also could be low oil

Yeah rattle speed up with higher rpms. Could it be the lifter? I dont keep reving it haha. But yeah thats all i can describe cause im locked out from starting it due to my iid installed.
