Baffled

Asked by rustydd Nov 03, 2017 at 08:15 PM about the 1997 Honda Passport 4 Dr EX 4WD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 97 passport, I cleaned the tank well, changed the fuel pump and
filter, checked the fuel pressure-44lbs, so it's good, manual calls for 42-56 so
I'm in the range. changed the purge box and silinoid, and I still can't have the
gas tank above half or the engine stumbles at midthrottle, half or less, it runs
great, plus I can't have the cap screwed tight or it will leak gas out the vent, I
changed the cap, and still the same...now what?

I checked the vent, it blows clean, no blockage...thanks for the try, It still runs great on half a tank of gas or less, and I still can't have the cap screwed tight, or it leaks out the vent...it's baffling...

I found out it was the return hose and the purge box hose were backwards...problem solved.....
