Subaru my car

Asked by Dustin Apr 01, 2019 at 12:47 PM about the 2003 Subaru Legacy 2.5 SE AWD

Question type: Car Customization

So I have a 2003 Subaru legacy 2.5l
automatic and I found me a 2.0 twin turbo d
and 5 speed Manuel transmission, and I am
wanting to put the twin turbo d and 5 speed
Manuel transmission in it what do I need to
do to get my car ready and prepped to go it's
a 2003 twin turbo d motor comes with a 5
speed Manuel transmission and me and a
friend are going to do it it s a jdm motor and
transmission, my buddy told me I will need
to find an ecu, for it and differential /
drivetrain, for it so it's more beefier, so I don't
snap drive terrains. But the twin turboed
motor doesn't come with drive terrains or
ecu. Will some one please break down what
steps I need to take as far as what basically
detailed I need to do as far as the swap and
I want to run it like a Toyota Supra we're the
smaller turbo spools up the bigger turbo.
And so what side would I put the smaller
turbo on what side of the car. Basically I
need the whole run down as far as detailed
as possible and will I have enough room in
my engine bay to fit the motor and
transmission swap detailed as possible
please and remember as of right know my
car is an automatic and I want to turn it into
a Manuel so I am guessing i will need a
hydraulic clutch, ecu to run the motor and
transmission, and need  drive terrains, and
need enough room to make this project work
please right me back a.s.a.p. thank u yet
again please right me back soon I am saving
up to do this swap and I want it done right
were can I look to see were to get the right
drive terrains, ecu, and parts to make this
project work thanks again sincerely yours,
dustin

I know I need a ecu and knew thicker drive terrains, and a automatic to Manuel swap conversion kit were or what else do I need to know thank u

Dustin. Save yourself a truck load of money, months of time and a thousand headaches by buying a WRX. Most people that try such a thing end up selling the whole mess to someone for a few hundred bucks after it has taken up room in their driveway for 5 years.

Well thanks for the idea of just buying a wrx but I like the idea of doing my own swap can u please tell me what it is I need to do with starting out as far as a twin turbo with manual transmission I need to know what twin turbo ed motor will fit and as far as the 2.0 twin turbo is it the 206,207,208 models twin turbo motors. And I would like to know if I need to get the motor and transmission as a sectorif I could just get the motor by itself and use the transmission I have already as far as stock I ve already sense u las

Last spoke to me I've done all my terrain to this car as far as inner and outer tie rod ends new ball joints, and knew knew lowering coil overs and shocks and struts and steering arms. And cv axles on both sides know I am looking into a twin motor is it the 2.0 206,207,208 model which is my best option and can I just use the motor only and use my transmission I have or do I have to get a set as motor and transmission thanks
