Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1997 Honda Accord SE. The manual calls
for P185 65 R15. The Honda dealership replaced
them with P195 60 R15. Will this hurt the
transmission

I don't think that year had the tech. to know the difference , they're just a little bit wider , probably looks and handles better , you just don't want them to bottom out on bumps or rub in tight parking lot turns

Thanks, I just noticed the transmission shifting a little harder into 3rd and 4th gear and at higher rpms than normal. Shifting into 4th gear at 3000 rpm. I don’t know what the normal rpm shift range is.

is it an auto matic tranny ? it shouldn't slam into any gears , take it to a trans. shop and if they say "rebuild" try and go easy on it , if it has the kick down cable at the "carburetor that can be adjusted or may be it's binding ,, or if a vacuum module on the tranny that may also be adjusted , .your experience may differ .

if the problem started when the dealer put the tires on I wouldn't go back to them for wiper fluid ,
