My 98 Honda Passport has a high idle and will not drop not
even when I put it into gear and it makes my transmission
not to shift right.

It might be related to your throttle body or throttle body position sensor. Is the check engine light on? Scan for the code? Try cleaning the throttle body with throttle body clean first to see if that helps. Carbon build up inside the throttle body can contribute to the symptoms you described.
