Is This A Car That I Should Try To Keep?

Asked by NOTFONDA98HONDAS Feb 07, 2015 at 12:34 AM about the 1998 Honda Civic LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I've got a '98 Civic-LX with 86K miles on it. It's been in storage for over 10 years. At 80K miles, the entire transmission had to be replaced. Around the same time, the "Check Engine" light keeps going on & off. I simply "GAVE-UP ON IT". Do you think that it's worth getting it "road-ready" or time to trade in an obvious "LEMON"? As far as kbb.com is concerned, this car is in excellent condition.

Thank You,
Kurt Nelsen.

I did just that & the code made reference to a very small, hard-to-reach device that increases my idle when I'm at a light with the a/c on. I'm sorry but I've forgotten the name.-Kurt.
