Brakes

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Recently I have heard a sort of grinding noise coming from my brake pedal when coming to a stop. It has not happened while applying the brakes at higher speeds. Today it almost sounded like a spring broke hitting the brake. I believe the sound is coming from the pedal itself or the front breaks. I have little experience with brakes and wondering what would be exactly causing this issue.

Any noise from the brakes means something is worn or broken. Don't just guess, have a mechanic or brake shop check it out. You might have worn pads. Incorreclty working brakes is a safety hazard to you and others.

^This doesn't help. That points out the obvious. I took the wheels apart, inspected the brake pads, rotors and assembly. Nothing is grinding on the pad itself. My guess is that it could possibly be that the brake line is contaminated and needs to be flushed or a problem with the pedal itself. Looking for insight from those who know what they're talking about with cars. Thank you
