WHAT WILL CAUSE THE CAR TO SPUTTER AND DIE?

Asked by Guru9Z6TM Jun 07, 2017 at 01:50 PM about the 1999 Honda Civic EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

THE CAR WILL SPUTTER THEN DIE.  YOU CAN HEAR IT TURN OVER
SO THIS IS NOT A BATTERY, ALTERNATOR OR STARTER ISSUE.  YOU
CAN HEAR THE FUEL PUMP RUN WHEN YOU TURN THE KEYS TO THE
ON POSITION.  IF YOU OPEN THE GAS CAP YOU CAN HEAR A HISS,
AND THEN THE CAR WILL FIRE RIGHT BACK UP BUT ONLY RUN FOR A
FEW MIN BEFORE IT DIES AGAIN.
