i just replaced an engine on a 1999 honda accord

and it starts and idles fine and after a minute it starts to idle up and down. and
when i drive it down the street if shifts ok but after a couple of miles it starts to
slip and takes a while to down shift when coming to a stop sign. any
suggestions?

For the idle problems I would check around the throttle body and intake manifold for any vac leaks and make sure all bolts are tight. Would also check every wire connector in the engine compartment to make sure they are connected properly and completely seated together. Have done many enigine jobs, but you would still be amazed just how many times a little thing like this can happen.
