Have 2011 Volkswagen Jetta TDI. Wouldn't start-battery dead. Apparently dimming gradually over 2 or 3 days and them died. No problem took out battery. Tested at AutoZone-wouldn't hold a charge. Weak cell or cells. Put new battery in using proper sequence. Immediately alarm reacted, wipers moving at near full speed, horn constant, not intermittent, car won't start. No dash idicators will come on. Disconnect battery and re-connect. Same reaction and car will not start. No visible reset button for alarm. Keyless system with only "fob". Just replaced batteries in "fob" only 1 month ago. Any ideas as to what may be the problem.

Probably programmed to do this, best get rid of it before VW's are not worth anything...

i have a 2004 vw jetta 1.8t and i tried to start it one day and it only cranked. i know i need a new battery, but when it was charged i could hear the pump hum and i had changed the oil. i changed the crankshaft position sensor and all the spark plugs and fuel filter and still no start. i changed the pump relay and still nothing im at my wits end and i need my second car to start runnin. its not getting any fuel because i tried starting fluid in the spark plug area and it fired right up its not leaking from any hoses. the only thing i changed in it was a battery for the keyless entry and the oil. i have the check engine light on and when i try to start it the battry sounds like its losing power and the oil light will start flashing. what is the malfunction. i know it needs air fuel and spark, and fuel is my problem. 7 Answers

Start fine and when warm drive, fine but on cold days have to sit for 10-15 min until the car heat up and able to move.
