Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My key is stuck in the ignition, the column will not lock, allowing it to be removed.
Took it to the dealer, they removed it, made a key, played for awhile sent me on my
way. (after paying) However, the second time after driving the car it once again,
became stuck.  Anyone else experience this problem.

There is a TSB ( Technical service Bulletin ) on this problem - If the dealer adjusted the interlock cable and it is still doing it - the cable is stretched and needs to be replaced. 02-005 Applies To: 1998-02 Passport - ALL with A/T Ignition Switch Does Not Turn to the LOCK Position SYMPTOM The ignition switch does not turn to the LOCK position; as if the shift lever is not in Park. The ignition key cannot be removed. PROBABLE CAUSE The shift lock cable between the lock cylinder assembly (ignition lock assembly) and the shift lever is out of adjustment. CORRECTIVE ACTION Check and, if necessary, adjust the shift lock cable.
