Why does oil pressure drop soon as I hit gas it goes right back up

No don't do a motor flush. Oil pressure should be going up as soon as you hit the gas pedal. One thing to check is it may be possible that there is a screen under the oil pressure switch. But my understanding is GM started that in 2007. This screen gets plugged up and just needs to be taken out and cleaned or replaced. Also I would change out the oil pressure sending unit. Is this the 5.3L engine? There is a issue with the oil pump in some 5.3L engines. Make sure the oil is full.
