Car cuts off when gas is given to car too fast

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When put the car in drive hold the gas petal down and let the tachometer get to 1 and it cuts off. If you start off real slow on the car it will not cut off. What could be the cause of this?

I have the same problem on the 2004 Taurus se if you know the answer please let me know
