2016 Nissan Rogue headlamp assembly moisture

Asked by jsunshyn Aug 19, 2023 at 05:08 PM about the 2016 Nissan Rogue SL AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Has anyone had issues with their headlamp assembly filling with moisture? I
was told by the dealership that Altimas were recalled for this, but not the
Rogues. They told me it would be over $1000 to replace the entire assembly
and that it would not be covered by any warranty. There are not cracks or
obvious defects. The main bulb burns out every time it is replaced.

I had the same thing happen with a Cadillac, once I got the headlight assemblies dry I used clear flex seal all around the seams, let it dry and coated them again and did it one more time. Put all back together and it worked great, I don’t know how long it lasted cause it was traded in that next summer but all winter the lights were clear and dry..

Check rockauto.com or your local auto parts store for an aftermarket replacement. If you're unable to replace the assembly yourself have a local shop replace it. Normally I'm a fan of Dealer servicing but some things, like this, an independent shop can handle. Hope that helps! Jim

Rockauto.com has your headlight assembly for around $100 plus shipping. Jim
