While driving the car went to neutral

I was driving from work yesterday and I noticed the
check engine light was on. I checked if it was a
quick fix like the gas cap, but it wasn’t. I was close
to home so I kept on going. Car ran smooth, temp
was good and everything was just fine until an hour
later I went to press on the gas and the car didnt
accelerate, all it did was rev the engine. I put it in
park and put it in drive and was going smooth again
like nothing happened. I checked the trans fluid and
it was fine. I then scanned it for codes and it gave
me the solution to replace the ECT. Any
suggestions? Its a automatic btw.

The engine coolant temp sensor is a very important input and can cause this problem, change the sensor and remember to burp the air out of the cooling system
