Buying a civic slipping transmission

Was looking in to buying a 03 civic and the seller
tells me the trans is slipping.
Was wondering what year are interchangeable
transmission if I need to buy one?
And what are thing to look in to before buying a
used or new transmission?

Figure around $700 for used transmission, then add in the removal and replacement cost. A new or rebuilt one will run you over $2000. I wouldn't buy this car unless you are getting it dirt cheap.

Ask around to different transmission shops for a price to rebuild if necessary. Some shops will diagnose for free as well. The 01-05 years are interchangeable but it’s easy to get the same series or type because they built so many of them. I had an 02’ EX and before I got the transmission rebuilt it wouldn’t slip until it was hot, so it wasn’t predictable. I would just bring it in to get looked at. I’d be weary of the engine over heating as well. Good luck!!
