Question type: General

The manuel says the car holds approximately 13.2 gallons of gas, however on my last stop at the gas station, the receipt said I put in 14.578 gallons of gas. Is this possible? The fuel light had barely come on at this point.

Hi lukensi, Rated fuel capacity is only stated as of the size of the fuel tank. However, normally we (as consumers) fill up the tank until it won't take any more. By doing this, the fuel capacity of any vehicle also includes the fill neck (piping) the feeds the tank. In my experience, this can add approximately a gallon to the overall fuel capacity. The tank of your 2002 Honda Civic has a fuel capacity of 13.2 gallons, it may very well hold about 14.5 gallons (including the fill neck). Hope this helps!
