My daughter has a '97 civic. Question is...I charged
her ac it worked for about a week then got hot. Its
full of freon and compredsor is running. Need to be
pointed in the right direction. Heard it could in the
vents...not sure. Haven't had this issue on any
honda

If it does not have a leak might be a obstruction in the systems such as condenser or expansion valve issue. Would make sure the engine fan works o.k. and check all associated fuses. A leak sniffer or dye detector in combination with a thermal scan on condenser will might help too.
