Blowing fuse for instrument gauges/shift lock lever/windows

Asked by pfbiddy Aug 09, 2010 at 09:34 PM about the 2005 Honda Pilot EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Can anyone help my situation, my pilot has been blowing a fuse that controlls the instrument gauges and you can't get it out of park when this happens. Sometimes the windows do not work when the fuse blows. When you put the car in reverse that is when it happens mostly, not everytime but quite often. Any suggestions.

All brake lights work plus reverse lights even though I've blown a fuse. Would this cause that fuse to blow even if those lights are still working? I will check ground wires for any shorts or bare wires. Thanks.
