As anyone had any issues with their 2016 Honda Civic having AC problems?

Asked by GuruZSDT7 Nov 02, 2018 at 04:06 PM about the 2016 Honda Civic LX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I hard that the factory overfilled the ac compressor and it has caused a leak.
Cost is about $2000. Honda refuses to acknowledge that it was a factory
defect.

Same problem for me - about $2k to fix...past warranty, so completely out of pocket...and completely unacceptable. Service manager said they are having a lot of complaints about the A/C in 2016 Civics...not a recall though because not a safety issue.

Yes my 2016 Honda Civic EX AC started blowing out hot air. Honda told me that it will going to cost me $2000. My car now has 50,000 miles. Nothing but problems with this car!!!

My 2018 (yes 2018) Honda Civic EX AC has the same problem! First, the dealer said the condenser needs to be replaced, now they said the compressor also has leaking. Unfortunately, my car is slightly over 40K miles, the warranty only covers up 36K miles. I guess Honda dealer can easily make money out of the AC problem!

We had a problem with our Civic EX LT leaking about 8 months after we got it,, They changed everything except the condenser. Yesterday we got a notice that there was a manufacturing problem with the condensers and that they have extended the warranty on it for 10 years.... We have not had a leak since they changed everything but the letter also included a form to fill out to get reimbursed if you paid for it. If you have paid to get it repaired, call honda and get your money back

Yes, it’s a known issue and Honda will do nothing about it. The recall will cover condenser, nothing for the labor on coil and compressor or the price of the parts when they go out.
