I have acceleration problems?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi I'm not sure what the problem is but whenever I press on
the gas pedal my car doesn't respond I can hear the motor
working well but my car isn't moving at the speed it should
be, and since I hear it revving up a lot my instinct is to shift
to the next gear but nothing happens

maybe the catalytic is clogged , rev the engine and see if a healthy blast of exhaust come out the tail pipe , scan for codes and get the definitions , if it's clogged there's a problem with the fuel mixture or something
