Looking for a Subaru WRX STI.

Asked by Ontonewadventures Jan 04, 2015 at 02:29 AM about the 2015 Subaru WRX STI Limited

Question type: Car Customization

First time purchasing a Subie. I want really want to invest and customize it as much as
possible. I can't decide which year of a Subie to look into, they are all cool! Like, is it
worth purchasing one at the dealers brand new? Or should I buy a used one? And what to
watch out for if I buy a used one? Sorry I'm a girl, still learning about this. Please help.

From everything I've read about these cars, they lead a pretty hard life, and buying one used means you don't have the advantage of knowing how the car was "broken in" . If you were talking about any other Subaru model, it wouldn't be as important, but, the WRX STI is the fastest model Subaru sells. It's a race car disguised as a small sports sedan. From your original question, it looks like you're considering a new one? If you have the funds and the inclination to get one of these cars, I would definitely recommend getting a new one and if it were me, I would definitely get the new CVT Lineartronic transmission. Yeah, maybe it will be slightly slower than the manual, maybe, but , it will be much easier to drive. You'll have the paddle shifters on the steering column. Don't worry, you'll have plenty of speed. ...in fact, there aren't many cars faster than this in this price point. And, by getting the automatic, you'll never over rev the engine. Good luck.

Don’t get the cvt. Just ruins the purpose of even owning a wrx and it’s boring.
