Is my AWD still working?

Asked by GuruZN7KF Nov 11, 2017 at 01:47 PM about the 2016 Subaru Legacy 2.5i AWD

Question type: General

My 2016 subaru legacy is amazing! I've recently
moved to Washington state and it's always wet and
a bit cold. I've recently noticed that several times
leaving a stoplight that the front wheels spin but
not the back... I'm not gunning it or trying to race
off, I'm merely going at a green light. Please tell me
the car ISN'T damaged.

Your car is under warranty so have it checked out at a local Subaru dealer. Maybe you need better tires.

No its not damaged. You need better tires. The mixture of cold and wet play a huge roll in how your car will act. The better your tires, the less likely you are to spin the tires. Also the front differential on your Subaru isn't locked, meaning it can spin just the fronts until the AWD kicks in. Hope this helps
