Spray the corner of a soft towel with some brake cleaner and VERY CAREFULLY rub the marker off. Then rinse with warm soapy water as soon as the numbers are gone. The key is being very gentle when wiping with the brake cleaner. This works, as I have done it myself without leaving any damage to the paint.
